This report discusses key priorities for achieving a global green transformation and outlines ways that countries can achieve SDGs and Paris Agreement ambitions through green growth. GGGI has identified four critical priorities for the successful transition to a green growth model of development:
- Achieving national ambitions through green growth strategies, policies, and plans can provide an essential foundation for long-term economic and social development, for achieving the SDGs, and for scaling up green business models, financing, and investment.
- Achieving a just, fair, and inclusive green transformation can increase economic productivity and generate green jobs.
- Solving the climate crisis can help address threats realted to global food security, biodiversity, ecosystems, and coastal cities and communities.
- Accelerating green technology disruptions can transform economic sectors, advance social and environmental objectives, and deliver key services.
These priorities result from the direct and growing experience of low-and middle-income countries around the world. The report also highlights several country case studies on specific green growth policies, plans, and measures that have been implemented across the globe.
