This report summarizes the regional workshop for Latin America and the Caribbean: Stockholm Convention Integrated Electronic Toolkit - NIP Harmonized Template and Online Submission. The session introduced and explored the Stockholm Convention Integrated Electronic Toolkit, a web-based platform developed to assist Parties in preparing, updating and submitting their National Implementation Plans (NIPs) in line with their obligations under Article 7 of the Convention.
Through a live demonstration of the toolkit, participants were guided through key functionalities of the platform, including login procedures, POPs inventory data entry, action plan development and structured tabular formats aligned with Article 15 reporting requirements. The workshop generated substantial interaction, with participants raising practical questions about access for national consultants, prioritization of actions, management of legacy measures from earlier NIP cycles, national endorsement processes and availability of templates in local languages.
As part of the GEF-funded and UNEP-led “Global Development, Review and Update of NIPs under the Stockholm Convention on POPs” project, the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) is executing Component 4, focused on disseminating information, managing knowledge and coordinating with the Stockholm Convention Secretariat to provide accessible, integrated tools and resources for all Parties.
