The report examines the effectiveness of tax incentives in Africa's mining sector, highlighting how such incentives often lead to substantial revenue losses, are poorly designed, and fail to attract responsible investment. 

It proposes rethinking mining tax incentives through harmonized policy frameworks and cost-benefit analysis, aligned with the Africa Mining Vision.
