This report focuses on the process to develop a roadmap for the national Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) database. It maps the key elements to be considered, including guidance on how to identify and involve key stakeholders to gain support for the national LCA database. To this end, it incorporates insights from previous national LCA databases developed around the world as well as from literature. It is primarily informed by the experiences of six countries (Brazil, Ecuador, India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Uganda), which developed national LCA database roadmaps under the project Resource Efficiency through Application of Life cycle thinking (REAL). This document is intended to support national LCA communities that want to drive database development in their respective countries.
