To halt and reverse biodiversity loss, 196 states adopted the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), calling for urgent action and a fundamental shift in how economies interact with nature.

This policy brief explores how the circular economy can accelerate that shift and strengthen the implementation of national biodiversity strategies and action plans.

Through a target-by-target analysis, it demonstrates how circular strategies support every GBF target, unlocking cascading environmental, social and economic benefits across the framework.
