The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is at a pivotal moment, with shifting global power dynamics, a rapid energy transition and deeper regional cooperation reshaping its development path.

This second edition of the socio-economic footprint report examines the potential socio-economic impacts of the transition under two scenarios.

Under the 1.5°C Scenario, Southeast Asia’s GDP is projected to grow on average 2.6% per year between 2023 and 2050, exceeding the gains anticipated in IRENA’s Planned Energy Scenario.
