Supporting the Transition to a Sustainable Textile Value Chain: The role of environmental permitting systems

This report examines how, and to what extent, environmental permitting systems regulate the impacts of textile value chain activities. 

It is intended to inform the UNEP Textile Initiative, which provides strategic leadership and promotes sector-wide collaboration to support a just transition to a sustainable and circular textile value chain. 

The initiative highlights the urgent need for the fashion sector to undergo rapid and transformative change to achieve circularity.
