The main goal of this study is to support mangrove restoration and rehabilitation and to increase resilience in the Ayeyarwady Delta in Myanmar by providing evidence of the ecosystem services provided through the implementation of mangrove-friendly aquaculture, as well as to support reaching sustainability in the value chain of key aquaculture products in the region.

The analyses conducted in the report follows the goals of GGKP’s 3Returns Framework. This guiding source aims to promote sustainable development by mainstreaming natural capital in development planning while presenting the synergies between aquaculture and marine conservation through the emerging concept of nature-based solutions (NbS).

The report provides recommendations on how to restore and rehabilitate mangrove forests in the area, while also increasing resilience.
