As the European Union advances its sustainable development agenda, the circular economy (CE) plays a central role in reducing pressure on natural resources, creating jobs, and unlocking new economic opportunities.
The research assesses how well the EU27 performed in 2019 and 2020 using 15 circular economy indicators from Eurostat, applying a multi-criteria decision analysis framework. The study also evaluates and compares country performance across key circular economy dimensions. With the findings showing that competitiveness and innovation have the greatest influence on overall circularity.
