Tracking Progress on Food and Agriculture-related SDG Indicators 2022

FAO Food tracker SDGs

As the world enters the third year of the COVID-19 crisis, it is evident that after years of progress, development has been halted or even reversed across several domains. While the world was off track from meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) even prior to 2020, the pandemic has compounded that trend, taking a devastating toll on people’s lives and livelihoods and on global efforts to realize the SDGs

This report analyses the food and agriculture-related SDG indicators, thus tracking the 2030 Agenda's objectives, to eliminate hunger and food insecurity as well as ensuring sustainable agriculture.

In focus are eight SDGs: 1 "No Poverty", 2 "Zero Hunger", 5 "Gender Quality", 6 "Clean Water and Sanitation", 10 "Reduced Inequalities", 12 "Responsible Consumption and Production", 14 "Life Below Water" and 15 "Life on Land".

The digital version of the report provides additional information as it also discusses selected indicators for which FAO is a contributing agency or have key global implications for food and agriculture. While highlighting the areas where further progress and effort is needed, the additional content provides information on agricultural losses due to disasters, the distribution of land tenure rights, and the impact of international trade policies.
