Climate experts have warned that Karnataka is likely to be more vulnerable to climate change than other Indian states. This report was prepared by 26 experts from different institutions based in Karnataka, London and New Delhi to encourage the State government to act fast to reduce the negative consequences of climate change. This report provides a summary of climate change projections for the short- and long-term, assessed using the latest global climate models. This is followed by an assessment of the impact of climate change on water resources, agricultural crop production and forest ecosystems. Finally, the adaptation component of developmental programmes already implemented in Karnataka is assessed, followed by a set of potential recommendations for different sectors.
