This report summarises the webinar on Integrating gender perspectives in National Implementation Plans, covering key topics such as gender mainstreaming, gender-responsive strategies, and the use of gender-disaggregated data in persistent organic pollutants (POPs) inventories.
It highlighted how integrating gender considerations into NIPs can contribute to more inclusive and effective outcomes, ensuring that both men and women benefit equally from environmental and health protections. Speakers shared practical strategies for incorporating gender into NIPs, providing recommendations for identifying and addressing gender disparities and underlining the role of gender-responsive planning for effective and equitable protection from hazardous chemicals and waste.

As part of the GEF-funded and UNEP-led “Global Development, Review and Update of NIPs under the Stockholm Convention on POPs” project, the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) is executing Component 4, focused on disseminating information, managing knowledge and coordinating with the Stockholm Convention Secretariat to provide accessible, integrated tools and resources for all Parties.
