This document follows within the framework of the UN's COVID-19 response and the Secretary General's comments on the socio-economic response to the pandemic. It indicates that UNEP will be working with the UN System more broadly to support member states in their efforts to incorporate the environmental dimension into their response efforts. It focuses on four key response areas:

  • The medical and humanitarian emergency phase;
  • A transformational change for nature and people;
  • Investing to build back better; and
