
This paper provides key information about the North American natural products market with a special focus on selected South American and African products. Natural products in the North American market have experienced strong market growth in the last decade as consumers increasingly demand nutritional and cosmetic products derived from natural sources. This paper provides an overview of the market including a description of products, prices and distribution channels, as well as requirements for access in terms of regulations, standards, product presentation and application forms.
This book outlines the Republic of Korea’s goals for green growth, including its green growth strategy, legislation and plans. Commercialization of green technologies is highlighted as a key platform for economic growth and job creation. The book was initially published in January 2011 in Korean under the title, “The Right Way to Know about Green Growth” with the support of the Republic of Korea Presidential Committee on Green Growth.
ICTSD senior fellow and Professor Emeritus Thomas Brewer, addresses the issues associated with technology transfer used by firms, namely international direct investments, licensing, and trade in services and goods. The author makes a case for the creation of a new international institutional architecture built around a sustainable energy trade agreement (SETA), with a view to enhancing such transfer. The paper considers a wide range of related topics that need to be addressed in designing and negotiating a SETA, especially four key elements: subsidies, government procurement, standards and intellectual property rights.

This report was prepared by the UN EMG's Issue Management Group on Green Economy to assess how the United Nations system could coherently support countries in transitioning to a green economy. The report aimes to facilitate a common understanding of the green economy approach and the measures required for the transition. This report was written in the run-up to the 2012 UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20), where one of the themes was "green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication".
