On 15 July 2021 from 08.00 to 10.00 CET, ADBI and UNESCAP are hosing a webinar on "Building Post-COVID-19 Economic Resilience in Asia and the Pacific".
While the COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented economic and social damage to Asia and the Pacific, the crisis also presents an opportunity to build resilience, inclusiveness and sustainability. At the same time, pandemic strains on public finances compound the need for governments to analyse and mitigate climate-related sovereign risks.
This ADBI-United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) webinar will feature policy dialogue on promoting the region’s post-COVID-19 economic resilience and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will draw upon research by UNESCAP and ADBI, addressing resilient economic recovery, financing challenges, and climate-related sovereign risk management in Asia and the Pacific.
Objectives
- Explore policy strategies for building post-COVID-19 economic resilience in Asia and the Pacific
- Identify onward policy priorities for driving sustainable and inclusive growth in the region and the realization of the SDGs
Output
- Improved understanding of challenges and opportunities for building a resilient post-COVID-19 recovery in Asia and the Pacific
- Greater impetus for policy dialogue and partnership among government officials, experts and other stakeholders
- Webinar recording and presentation materials will be uploaded on the ADBI website after the event
