On May 27, 2020 6:00 - 7:00 PM (CEST), CERES is holding a webinar on Tackling the Climate Crisis: Exploring Solutions and Policy Options with MIT Faculty.
It is increasingly understood that limiting global warming to 1.5 or 2℃ will require significant global policy interventions, yet few fully comprehend the scale of scope of those policy changes. MIT has developed an interactive tool to show, in real time, how different global policies can help limit temperature increases. The EN-ROADS model was developed to focus on how changes in the energy, economic and public policy systems could affect greenhouse gas emissions and climate outcomes.
In this plenary session, participants will:
- Collaborate with other participants to make real-time decisions
- Select policies and see, in real time, their effectiveness that reducing temperature increase
- Gain an understanding of the policies that are the most important for fighting climate change
Speakers include:
- John Sterman, Jay W. Forrester Professor of Management, MIT Sloan School of Management
- Bethany Patten, Lecturer and Senior Associate Director at the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative
