A Compass for the EU Economy: Which Indicators for the Updated Industrial Strategy?

On 4 March 2021 10:00 (CET), CEPS is hosting a webinar on "A Compass for the EU Economy: Which Indicators for the Updated Industrial Strategy?".

The European Commission is about to adopt a Communication on the update of the Industrial Strategy presented in March 2020. The update will mark the beginning of a reflection on which indicators are most appropriate when it comes to tracking the strategy’s progress. What should be called “success” in the future EU industrial strategy? Should indicators include elements of competitiveness, resilience, well-being, sustainability? Should they be mostly related to the “supply-side”, or also embed considerations on the impacts of industry on society and the environment? Who should develop these indicators, and what governance arrangements should be built around them?

The webinar will see the participation of representatives of institutions, industry and civil society, in the attempt to involve all dimensions of future prosperity in the discussion.
