
On 21 June 2022 (15:30-17:00 CEST), the Global Alliance for the Future of Food, UN Food and Agricutural Organization (FAO) and NDC Partnership will host a webinar presenting updates from countries’ new and revised Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and detailing other actions leveraging the potential of agriculture and food systems for climate change adaptation and mitigation.
Speakers will highlight the findings of two key publications: FAO’s 2021 (Interim) Global Update Report: Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in the Nationally Determined Contributions and the Global Alliance’s report Untapped Opportunities for Climate Action: An Assessment of Food Systems in Nationally Determined Contributions.
The webinar aims to:
- Enhance understanding of how agriculture and food systems priorities are being considered in countries’ NDCs
- Present a framework to support countries in better integrating food systems and agricultural priorities in their NDCs
- Provide a platform to share experiences, good practices and lessons learned to leverage the potential of agriculture and food systems for climate change adaptation and mitigation
