IUCN Webinar - The development and use of biodiversity indicators in business: An overview

Organisation :
International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)

On 6 December 2018 (3:00 PM CEST) the International Union for Conservation of Nature is holding a webinar on "The development and use of biodiversity indicators in business: an overview"

Many businesses are aware of the importance of measuring their impacts and dependencies on biodiversity, but how to apply existing frameworks and tools in a business context is often a challenge. A new report by IUCN and Oxford University released during Natural Capital Week 2018 aims to change that.

The development and use of biodiversity indicators in business: an overview builds on a suite of work focused on providing guidelines and tools specifically for business, and it is intended to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on biodiversity indicators within Europe and beyond. This hour-long webinar will focus on the new report and discuss how the spectrum can help business navigate applications where biodiversity indicators are needed, as well as a recommended process to develop and use biodiversity indicators and a proposed way forward.

Presenters include: Prue Addison, NERC Knowledge Exchange & Research Fellow at Oxford University and Giulia Carbone, Deputy Director of the IUCN Global Business and Biodiversity Programme.
