On 28 September 2021 (14.00-17.00 CET), the European Commission is hosting an online event to present the energy efficiency first recommendation and guideline to a wide range of stakeholders, public authorities, industry and financial institutions.
European Commission for Energy Kadri Simson will open the session, followed by stakeholders from the energy system, main energy end-use sectors and finance community to illustrate what energy efficiency first means, specifically for their sector, and how its application could look like.
The event will also launch the Energy Efficiency Financial Institutions Group (EEFIG) working group on energy efficiency first (EE1st). The aim of the working group is to further explore and facilitate the application of the principle in the finance sector.
