On 26 July 2022 (14:00-15:00 CEST), the World Bank's Global Program on Sustainability will host Natural Capital Accounts in Zambia: A Discussion on the Methodology, Process and Lessons Learned.
The webinar will focus primarily on the country's water account, highlighting the development process, challenges faced and necessary capacity building.
The World Bank's Global Program on Sustainability is working with countries, such as Zambia, to integrate sustainability considerations into policies and decision-making by providing high-quality data and analysis that accounts for environmental risk and opportunity, and calculates the stocks and flows of natural resources and ecosystem services. Under the Wealth Accounting and Valuation of Ecosystems (WAVES) program, Zambia has already completed three natural capital accounts for forest, water and land.
