NIPs Dialogue

The Global Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) is proud to launch the NIP Dialogue Series – Voices from the Countries. The series offer a unique opportunity for knowledge exchange and collaborative learning surrounding the Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded, and UNEP-led project on the global development, review, and update of National Implementation Plans (NIPs) under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs).

The NIP Dialogue Series will delve into a range of topics related to NIPs, including:

  • Developing and updating national POPs inventories for NIPs
  • Integrating NIP priorities into national policies and legislation
  • Strategies for POPs management in NIP implementation
  • Stakeholder engagement and data collection for POPs management
  • Gender and social inclusion in POPs` management

GGKP encourages participants to suggest their focus areas based on their expertise and experiences. Through insightful conversations with key actors from around the globe, the series will explore the challenges and opportunities encountered in developing, reviewing, and updating NIPs.

The outputs of the NIP Dialogue Series will be widely disseminated through various channels, including the Global NIP Update website and the Green Forum NIP Update Group. GGKP will produce video recordings of the conversations, full transcripts and blog posts. By making these resources readily accessible, the NIP Dialogue Series aims to contribute to a global community of practice on POPs management and facilitate the country-to-country learning process.

Countries, regional centres, academia and all technical experts working on NIPs or POPs management are invited to join this global knowledge-sharing effort.

If interested in participating in the series, contact the GGKP Global NIP Update project team to schedule your interview and share relevant materials that illustrate your country’s experiences, challenges and innovative approaches.
