On 10 July 2020 at 15:00 (CEST), the OECD, WWF, EDF, and the World Bank are hosting a webinar on 'Building a Nature-Positive Economic Recovery'.

This is part of a 'Friday series' of high-level dialogues on a green and healthy recovery. As governments put in place recovery packages from the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, the planet is at a crossroads between business-as-usual and green economic recovery. This crisis is an opportunity to direct the trillions of dollars major economies are infusing into key sectors of the economy worldwide, to nature-neutral and nature-positive measures that simultaneously reverse nature loss and boost an economic recovery for the long-term. A nature-positive economic recovery should:

  • Place nature at the center; committing to “do no harm”;
  • Create green and sustainable jobs;
  • Link the economic recovery to countries’ climate commitments;
  • Rely on the best science; and
  • Take a whole-of-government approach that considers social and environmental factors alongside economic ones.

The objective of this dialogue is to discuss how to make the economic recovery a nature-positive one.
