On November 19, 9am EST, the World Resources Institute will hold the Aligning National M&E systems and Global Results Frameworks: Towards better assessment of adaptation results webinar, which will explore critical topics that support domestic transparency systems for NDCs. It will feature presentations and interactive discussion among experts, practitioners and national government representatives.

The Paris Agreement provides a foundation for the most robust climate change transparency system to date, requesting countries to provide information on their progress to adaptation targets. Linking up country-led and global monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems can be mutually beneficial. It can help streamline workflows and reduce reporting burdens, minimize resource wastage, and win ‘buy-in’ from the people responsible for making sure these systems work.

This webinar sets out the diversity of M&E approaches of major climate funds and national frameworks to draw lessons for aligning country systems and fund-level results frameworks in order to assess adaptation success more effectively. Speakers include Nisha Krishnan from the WRI and Barry Smith, Researcher from the International Institute for Environment and Development.
