This case study analyses how Samoa is using allocated Pacific Waste Management (PacWastePlus) investment to design and implement an e-waste take-back system in order to reduce pollution, as well as its resulting environmental and health impacts.

To address the management of e-waste, Samoa chooses to introduce sustainable financing legislation, design and implement an e-waste take-back system, facilitate training on safe e-waste handling and dismantling, and construct an e-waste dismantling and storage facility.

The overall objective of the PacWastePlus is to generate improved economic, social, health and environmental benefits arising from stronger regional economic integration and the sustainable management of natural resources and the environment.
