This case study explores a pilot project that UNIDO undertook together with the Packaging Recycling Organization in Israel (TMIR), packaging producers, and Israeli R&D institutions to identify ways to improve flexible packaging recycling rates. The project assessed the flexible packaging market, simulated recycling scenarios with high ratios of flexible materials and mono-material packaging, and developed recommendations for scaling up open-loop recycling practices.
