Starting on April 29 2019, UN Environment and Open University are offering a Massive Open Online Course on Marine Litter with a two-week Leadership Track and an eight-week Expert Track. The MOOC on marine litter strives to teach students through action-oriented learning how they can apply successful and inspiring activities to their own local context, regardless of their profession or location. The course will present different options and tools to combat marine pollution.

This course introduces people to the basic concepts, policy instruments, and international frameworks of inclusive green economies. The course is self-paced, with ten hours of materials.

On 27 May - 28 June 2019, the United Nations System Staff College is offering an online course on "Policy Coherence for Sustainable Development." This engaging online course is designed to equip participants with a sound understanding of why policy coherence is important for achieving sustainable development, what coherent policy-making entails, and what are the specific tools, mechanisms and approaches that can be employed to foster policy coherence.

UNCC is offering 10-hours self-paced e-Learning course Introduction to Green Economy that introduces the basic policy instruments and international frameworks of inclusive green economies.

From 15 April - 31 May 2019, eleven partner organisations are offering a free seven-week Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Biodiversity Finance. It will provide you with the tools to assess the policy, institutional, and economic context for biodiversity finance; conduct a financial needs assessment to achieve a country’s biodiversity goals; and develop a biodiversity finance plan that identifies the most suitable finance solutions.

From 29 April –21 June 2019, UNITAR and UN Environment are offering the e-course, Introduction to Sustainable Consumption and Production in Africa. The course is designed to assist policymakers in Africa in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating policies supporting a transition towards Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP).

Starting on 19 February 2019, +Acumen is offering a six-week course on "Designing for Environmental Sustainability and Social Impact." The course is designed for social innovators who want to develop entrepreneurial solutions for environmental conservation and poverty reduction. The course will explore challenges like deforestation, overfishing, waste management, and agriculture, where the environment and livelihoods are sometimes at odds. This is a hands-on, project-based course that consists of weekly readings, videos, and workshops.

In this course, learn about food security worldwide, the effects of malnutrition, how we manage ecosystems that provide food resources and more. You’ll emerge from this course with a clear answer to the question: What can I do to make food consumption and production more sustainable?

Starting on 11 February 2019, SDG Academy and the United Nations Environment Program (UN Environment) are offering an 8-week online training course on "Environmental Security and Sustaining Peace". This course provides an in-depth introduction to the multiple roles that natural resources and the environment play in the onset, escalation, and resolution of, and recovery from, violent conflicts.

Registration is now open for the March - August 2019 session of the Certified Expert in Climate & Renewable Energy Finance e-course offered by the Frankfurt School - UNEP Collaborating Center. This course will help participants gain an understanding of available policy instruments that can trigger green investment at the required scale, and the perspective of investors or financiers confronted with risks and regulations of renewable energy or energy efficiency projects.
