Location :
Online

On 9 September 2025 (18:30-19:00 CEST), the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists will host a webinar to explore  the the political economy of carbon pricing.

This webinar brings together leading experts to discuss why carbon prices remain low, the political challenges behind them and what this means for achieving global climate goals.

The event will explore why many governments hesitate to raise carbon taxes or tighten emission caps, even though stronger prices are needed to meet the Paris Agreement targets, and will look at how politics, fairness across income groups and the global nature of the climate challenge shape these decisions.
