This brief provides arguments for the mainstreaming of the environment in the Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy in progress in Rwanda. The paper focuses firstly on why the environment should be mainstreamed, secondly on how to undertake this practice, and finally the expected outcomes and results of such a process.
