The UK Low Carbon Transition Plan: National strategy for climate and energy

The UK Low Carbon Transition Plan: National strategy for climate and energy sets out the UK’s transition plan for building a low carbon UK as part of the Government’s five point plan to tackle climate change: cutting emissions, maintaining secure energy supplies, maximising economic opportunities and protecting the most vulnerable. The plan will deliver emission cuts of 18% on 2008 levels by 2020 (and over a one third reduction on 1990 levels). This includes sourcing 40% of electricity from low carbon sources by 2020.
