The Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP) warmly welcomes the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economics (EAERE) as a new partner in green growth knowledge.
Founded in 1990, the EAERE is an international scientific association that aims to:
- Contribute to the development and application of environmental and resource economics as a science in Europe;
- Encourage and improve communication between teachers, researchers and students in environmental and resource economics in different European countries;
- Develop and encourage the cooperation between university level teaching institutions and research institutions in Europe.
EAERE has approximately 1200 members in over 60 countries from academic institutions, the public sector and industry. EAERE member interests span from traditional economics to agricultural economics, forestry and the emerging field of natural capital economics.
The organisation’s flagship event, the EAERE Annual Conference, is a key global event for exchange and debate on current topics in environmental and resource economics. Held within the World Congress of Environmental and Resource Economists, the EAERE Annual Conference brings together over 700 participants including international researchers, economists and scholars in the spirit of economic discovery, research, analysis and collaboration, including on a range of green economy issues.
The EAERE provides many other fora for exchanging ideas relevant to the allocation and management of natural and environmental resources, including the Environmental and Resource Economics (ERE) journal, the Review of Environmental Economics and Policy (REEP), the Winter and Summer Schools in Resource and Environmental Economics, the EAERE newsletter, and affiliation with its sister association in North America (AERE).
In future, EAERE aims to enhance the policy impact of its research, including through partnership with the GGKP.
