An economist by discipline, Artemisa Aguirre has worked as an environmental researcher and consultant at Centro Mario Molina ¬– Mexican Nobel Laureate think tank–, performing different econometric and political analysis for the design of public policy in Mexico. Also has ventured in the power sector as junior consultant at EnergeA, firm guided by Jesus Reyes-Heroles, a key agent of the sector for his work as the General Director in the Mexican state-owned petroleum company. At present, she works at the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change (INECC, for its acronym in Spanish) focused on Environmental Economics, Green Growth, Climate Change and Policy Evaluation; as part of her research agenda she works in the design of economic instruments and public policy to promote a sustainable, inclusive and prosperous growth in Mexico.
