Brurce Muhammad Mecca

Brurce Mecca is an Assistant Analyst at CPI’s Jakarta office. At CPI, his work primarily focuses on sustainable land use.

Prior to joining CPI, Brurce had worked as a Junior Researcher at the Indonesian Institute for Energy Economics (IIEE). At IIEE, he evaluated state-owned bioenergy power plants in rural Indonesia as part of the “Study of Bioenergy Plant Management Set-up” project for the Indonesian Ministry of Energy, which aimed to improve renewable energy production, carbon sequestration, and sustainable land use. He also has experience in political dimensions of sustainable land use in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. Brurce holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and a master’s degree in Environmental Science from Yale University.
