Claire Gavard joined the Eni Enrico Mattei Foundation (FEEM) in 2014, after working for the Directorate General for Climate Action at the European Commission, and completing her PhD in Sorbonne. Her research interests cover climate and energy policies in Europe and emerging countries. She focused her PhD dissertation on the potential carbon market coupling mechanisms with developing countries. At the European University Institute (EUI) in 2011, Claire worked on wind power deployment in Denmark. Prior to coming to the EUI, she visited the MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change, in collaboration with Electricité de France. Claire had field experience in India and Brazil and consulting experience in the security industry. She holds a Master degree in Physics from Ecole Supérieure de Physiques et de Chimie Industrielles (Paris, France), a Master degree in Innovation Management from Ecole Polytechnique (Paris, France), and a PhD in Economics from Panthéon-Sorbonne Paris 1 University (Paris School of Economics).
