Gunnar Eskeland, PhD, is Professor in Economics at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), in Bergen, Norway. He has worked in developing countries in senior research positions at the World Bank and Center for Climate Research Oslo. Applications include environmental protection, optimal taxation, transport and air quality, energy economics, shipping markets, climate policy and urban development. Recent work on climate change has included energy sector analysis, European policy review (the EU funded ADAM project, where he lead the energy sector work program), research on technological change and an R&D treaty. Eskeland is engaged in the Master’s profile at NHH: Energy, Natural Resources and the Environment, with an international student body, and is directing the Energy and Climate research program at SNF and CenSES.
