Geologist for deep geothermal wells
María de los Angeles Gálvez Orellana has dedicated her professional life to exploring geothermal as a renewable energy source. Born and raised in El Salvador, she moved to Costa Rica to pursue a degree in geology, where she has found a second home. Since 2008, she has worked at the Costa Rican Institute of Electricity (ICE). Recently retired, she remains deeply connected to geothermal energy. Gálvez Orellana holds degrees in chemical engineering and geology.
