Namrata Ginoya
Manager, Resilience And Energy Access
Namrata is a Manager with the energy access team at WRI India which aims to extend affordable, reliable and clean energy to all. Her responsibilities include strategic partnership building, project coordination, policy research and knowledge management. She worked with WRI’s Climate Resilience Practice (CRP) team for five years. Her most recent research looks at the relationship between climate change, gender and nutritional security. She has published reports, blogs and case studies, and helped develop a tracking tool for adaptation projects for the National Adaptation Fund for Climate Change.
Prior to joining WRI, Namrata conducted research and advised on building low-carbon climate resilient water and sanitation infrastructure in India and Bangladesh. She holds a B.Tech in Civil Engineering and M.Tech in Climate Change and Sustainable Development from the Centre for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT), Ahmedabad. At CEPT, her research covered livelihood vulnerability assessments for coastal villages in Gujarat, India, a city-wide assessment of vulnerability to climate change for Ahmedabad, India, and strategies for low-carbon development in the city of Bangkok, Thailand.
Namrata is a painter and an avid reader. Her other passions include traveling and household terrace farming.
