Rita Pandey is Senior Fellow at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi. Her research interests span climate change, biodiversity finance, sustainable development, green economy, and green budgeting. Her research has a strong policy focus using environmental and ecological economics, and tools and measures of public finance; and entails collaboration with experts from other areas. She has a Ph.D. in economics from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India and has been a visiting fellow at the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, University of Yale. She has served on several national and international committees including the Technological and Finance Standing Committee to implement the Montreal Protocol, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India; and the Indo-German Expert Group on Green and Inclusive Economy, supported by Government of Germany. She has served on boards of premier institutions including NIPFP, Delhi, India, and OK International, San Francisco, USA. She has published widely in international and national peer reviewed journals and has authored five books. She has been consultant for the World Bank, UNDP, UNEP, Green Economy Coalition, Verco Global, TERI, and Development Alternatives.
