Thandeka is a Projects Coordinator at the Africa Institute (a regional centre for the Basel and Stockholm Conventions). Under this role, she coordinates multiple projects working with organisations such as UNEP, GEF, UNIDO and DBSA. Projects included in her portfolio involved management of countries mostly (but not limited to) the SADC region. These projects can be categorised as chemicals and hazardous waste for multilateral environmental agreements for English-speaking African countries. The projects she is involved in work are aimed at helping governments comply with their commitments to the Basel, Stockholm, and Rotterdam Conventions.
Previously, Thandeka worked as an Environmental Consultant at WSP, working in the Geoscience and Water division of the Environmental team. She has been involved in a variety of projects in Oil and Gas, manufacturing, transporting/shipping, food and beverage, power and government sectors, and African countries. Thandeka holds a BSc Honours in Environmental Sciences.
