Pilot Integrated Ecosystem Assessment of Bugesera, Rwanda

Stagnating or slow economic growth and escalating poverty have been associated with decline or total loss of ecosystem services. The main objective of Poverty-Environment Initiative in Rwanda is to develop capacity for mainstreaming environmental issues into the national development framework, principally the Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (EDPRS), by deepening understanding of the complex links between poverty, human wellbeing and environment.

This report describes the Bugesera Integrated Ecosystem Assessment, which was conducted as a pilot study to explore the linkages between human wellbeing and ecosystem services in Rwanda.
