On 21 November 2024 (14:00-15:30 CET), the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP)GGKP will host a webinar on "Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) for POPs Inventory Data".
The webinar will provide an overview of the major elements of a QA/QC system for POPs inventories (responsibilities, QA/QC plan, quality control, quality assurance, plausibility assessment, and documentation) as well as QA/QC elements for POP monitoring. It will also introduce participants to the material and substance flow analysis (MFA/SFA) as a tool for QA/QC for plastic and related POPs assessment for improved planning of the management of POP-impacted plastic fractions of major waste/resource sectors.
Objectives
- Introduce the “Short Guidance on Implementing Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) for POPs Inventories Data Validation”
- Give an overview of the major elements of a QA/QC system concerning POP inventories (Responsibilities, QA/QC plan, quality control, quality assurance, plausibility assessment and documentation
- Introduce the plausibility assessment of industrial POP inventory data with practical examples
- Provide insights of QA/QC of own measured POPs data including the need for representative sampling of POPs in impacted plastics
- Introduce material and substance flow analysis (MFA/SFA) as an important tool for QA/QC for plastic and related POPs assessment for improved planning of the management of POP-impacted plastics
Target audience
- Stockholm Convention Official Contact Points and National Focal Points particularly from project countries
- National officials and experts involved in the process of reviewing and updating the NIPs
- Members of the National Statistical Office and similar institutions
- Practitioners working on POPs inventory and management
