Making Data Work: Applying GMP and POPs Inventories for Evidence-Based Policy in NIPs
On 30 January 2026 (16:00-17:30 CET), the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP), as part of the GEF-funded and UNEP-led Global NIP Update Project (GEF ID 10785), will host a virtual webinar on Making Data Work: Applying GMP and POPs Inventories for Evidence-Based Policy in NIPs.
The webinar will explore how data from the Global Monitoring Plan (GMP) and national POPs inventories can be effectively handled, interpreted and leveraged to inform evidence-based policy design and enhance NIP development.
Focusing on the practical application of these data sets, the webinar will offer insights into past and ongoing GMP efforts and highlight opportunities for utilizing data to support sound environmental governance and effective POPs management.
Activity Options for Action Plans for Brominated, Chlorinated and Other New POPs
On 22 January 2026 (14:00-16:30 CET), the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP), as part of the GEF-funded and UNEP-led Global NIP Update Project (GEF ID 10785), will host a virtual webinar on Activity Options for Action Plans for Brominated, Chlorinated and Other New POPs.
It will introduce the integrated approach to reducing and eliminating POPs plastic additives in particular listed brominated flame retardants (PBDEs, PBB and HBCD), chlorinated flame retardants (Dechlorane Plus, SCCPs/MCCPs) and UV-328 across major use sectors including electrical and electronic equipment (EEE)/waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), transport/end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) and buildings/construction and demolition waste (CDW).
Activity Options for Action Plans on the Reduction of uPOPs and Management of PFASs
On 20 January 2026 (14:00-16:30 CET), the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP), as part of the GEF-funded and UNEP-led Global NIP Update Project (GEF ID 10785), will host a virtual webinar on Activity Options for Action Plans on the Reduction of uPOPs and Management of PFASs.
The event will introduce the integrated approach for reducing and eliminating uPOPs, including the integrated pollution prevention and control approach of Best Available Technique (BAT) and Best Environmental Practice (BEP) for major Annex C Part II and III sources. It will also provide an overview of activity options for managing and phasing out of POP-PFAS towards an overall control of all PFAS, considering synergies with the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC) and related issues of concern.
