Overview

Join us for an insightful workshop on Greening Higher Education for Green Skills Building Thailand.

Transforming societies by raising “sustainability awareness” and emphasizing the critical role of consumption decisions is fundamental to profoundly changing consumption and production patterns. Empowering citizens through enhanced consumer information about environmental footprints allows them to make informed decisions.

Access to open life-cycle data, including regional and country-specific data, and awareness of circular economies are pivotal for creating sustainable consciousness.

Background Information

As part of the Global Strategy for Sustainable Consumption and Production, a new flagship initiative, “Digitalization 4 Circular Economy” was initiated by the 10YFP Secretariat with the aim of developing and implementing a critical path for harnessing digital technologies and unleashing the full potential of a circular economy.

This has been done in close cooperation with the UNEP Digital Transformation sub-programme and the Coalition for Digital Environmental Sustainability (CODES).

At COP28, the Green Jobs for Youth Pact is putting young people front and center of the green transformation. A collaborative effort by the International Labour Organization (ILO), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Green Jobs for Youth Pact is hosting a series of events focusing on amplifying youth voices in crucial discussions around climate change, just transition and green jobs.
