On 30 August-1 September 2022, a successful first scoping mission to Zambia took place under the SPAR6C programme (Supporting Preparedness for Article 6 Cooperation) of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).

On 24-27 August 2022, the Supporting Preparedness for Article 6 Cooperation (SPAR6C) Team conducted an inception mission to Thailand, kicking-off the project and convening personal meetings among relevant Thai counterparts and stakeholders.

The Green Policy Platform has worked closely with its partners on two major initiatives around natural capital, E4N and NC4-ADF, in the past years. With E4N coming to an end and the upcoming UNFCCC COP27 and CBD COP15, this month's events have centred around natural capital and ensuring that momentum continues for financing nature action.

On 27 September 2022, the Green Finance Platform (GFP) and UNDP Financial Centres for Sustainability (FC4S) launched its Sustainable Finance Diagnostic Toolkit to support policymakers take a coordinated approach to the development of a national sustainable finance roadmap.

In small island countries pollution levels continue to rise.  Even the most remote island communities are experiencing build-up of wastes that cannot be easily managed or removed, damaging local habitats and impacting the health of island communities.

Canberra, Australia, 26 August 2022: The island nations of the Pacific Ocean are suffering from a build-up of hazardous wastes and toxic chemicals – a serious problem when coupled with limited space and insufficient infrastructure to deal with such harmful materials safely.

In the lead-up to the international environmental meeting Stockholm+50: A healthy planet for the prosperity of all – our responsibility, our opportunity, which took place on 2 – 3 June 2022, the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) and UN Environment Programme (UNEP) organised the #GGKPwebinar series: The road to Stockholm+50. This four-part webinar series included sessions focused on inclusive growth and prosperity through climate action, green recovery and resilience, the transition from climate commitments to action, and reflection on how we should move forward from the international meeting.
