Science, policy and business forum

The UN Science-Policy-Business Forum on the Environment, which will hold its sessions at the UN Headquarters in Nairobi from 8 to 10 March 2019 in the lead up to the Fourth Session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA 4).

Recommendations from the Forum inform the UN Environment Assembly and the UN’s work on the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement. Panelists and eminent personalities participating in the Forum will have an opportunity to attend the assembly and to contribute to high-level dialogues with Governments and other stakeholders.

Convening under the theme “Towards 2030 Goals: Making the Decade Count”, the World Sustainable Development Summit will bring together decision-makers on 29-31 January 2020 in New Delhi, India, to deliberate on issues related to sustainable development.

Enhancing Resource Efficiency & Reducing Material Footprints to Meet Climate Commitments

On 12 December 2019 (11:30-13:00 CET) the UN’s One Planet network, the UNFCCC, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Resource Panel (IRP) are co-organizing a high-level panel discussion on enhancing resource efficiency and reducing material footprint to meet climate commitments at COP25.

GGSD Side Event - Circular economy & the sustainable management of minerals & metal resources

On 27 November 2019 (1:10pm — 2:10pm CET) the OECD and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) will co-organize a side-event during the 2019 Green Growth and Sustainable Development Forum to present how the circular economy concept provides a holistic framework to progress towards sustainable consumption and production patterns, achieving the 2030 Agenda and the Paris agreement targets and to discuss the role that heavy and extractive industries will play in this framework.

Green Economy Week 2019
