Cover of Chile: Policy roadmap for sustainable infrastructure

Sustainable infrastructure is crucial for addressing the triple planetary crisis of climate change, nature loss, and pollution. In this context, Chile, along with several governments across Latin America and the Caribbean, has shown a serious commitment to integrating sustainability into their infrastructure systems.

The Chile: Policy Roadmap for Sustainable Infrastructure was developed by United Nations University Institute for Integrated Management of Material Fluxes and of Resources and the United Nations Environment Programme in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Works of Chile- with the participation of regional stakeholders from academia, industry, and local communities- identifies key barriers for sustainable infrastructure and highlights the importance of cross-sectoral innovations to deliver low-carbon, resource-efficient, and nature-based solutions. The 10 point roadmap also identifies areas of opportunity for sustainable infrastructure.
