This is a lesson-learning report produced from a review of program, country, and Technical Assistance (TA) project reports as well as key informant interviews (KIIs) with program staff. It has been produced in advance of the final Poverty-Environment Action (PEA) evaluation. This report has the dual purpose of archiving the collective experience derived from 8 countries and 6 technical assistance projects as well as providing a repository of good practices as well as challenges and adaptive management actions that can inspire future projects on poverty-environment mainstreaming. The structure of the remainder of the report is as follows;
- Part 2 synthesizes lessons learned from the PEA experience.
- Part 3 considers the role of the project’s achievement in the country's progress towards the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); and looks ahead to how the integrated approaches, tools, and lessons from the PEA experience can be leveraged to help strengthen and accelerate national SDG implementation.
- Part 4 sets out lessons and opportunities for addressing the challenges in future mainstreaming work at the UN to strengthen SDG implementation given the lessons from the PEA experience.
