webinar-2021-6

On 08 December 2021 (11:00 - 12:00 PM EAT, UTC +3), Poverty-Environment Action for Sustainable Development Goals (PEA) organized the 9th in its 2021 webinar series, a webinar on HelpDesk: mainstreaming Poverty-Environment linkages to Poverty-Environment Action countries and other countries interested in mainstreaming poverty-environment linkages into policy, planning, budgeting, and investments, focusing its services in 4 main areas: technical advisory; knowledge management; resource mobilization and partnerships.

Since 2018, the Poverty-Environment Action for Sustainable Development Goals project has been trailblazing the approach of mainstreaming environmental sustainability and climate objectives for poverty eradication into development planning, budgeting and monitoring systems, public and private finance, and investment in 8 full-fledged countries and 6 Technical Assistance projects. Poverty-Environment Action builds on the deep experience of the predecessor project, called Poverty-Environment Initiative (PEI). Over the past decade, PEI has pioneered integrated approaches to mainstreaming poverty-environment linkages in national development planning and implementation processes in more than 20 countries in support of national efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.

Over the years, UNDP-UNEP Poverty-Environment Action for SDGs received repeated requests for support on mainstreaming poverty-environment. In response to the demand, a Helpdesk service has been created and opened to all member states to jointly provide on-going technical advisory and information on poverty-environment mainstreaming.
