This study investigates PFAS in textiles and wastewater discharges in Bangladesh, finding contamination in clothing samples and industrial effluent that threatens rivers, water quality and downstream communities.

It underscores the persistence and accumulation of PFAS, highlighting serious risks to human health and the environment. The report calls for stronger monitoring, regulation and a shift to safer alternatives in the textile sector.

The report is intended for Stockholm Convention focal points, national officials, chemicals and waste experts, coordinating bodies, regional centres and other stakeholders working on pollution prevention.
