The Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP) held its inaugural conference, "Green Growth: Addressing the Knowledge Gaps," January 12-13, 2012, in Mexico City Mexico. The conference took stock of the current understanding of the economics of green growth; engaged researchers and practitioners in an ongoing dialogue to increase understanding of how green growth approaches can be applied in the field; identified knowledge gaps and established priorities for knowledge-building work and implementation; and launched follow-on efforts. The conference location allowed attendees to benefit from Mexico’s experiences from taking a leading role internationally in advocating pathways to green development.
The conference convened leading scholars and experienced practitioners to address a number of potential connections between economic growth and environmental resource management.
GGKP would like to acknowledge the invaluable support of Mexico's National Institute of Ecology (INE) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, without whom this conference would not be possible.
